How To Make Kheeranand

  1. Wash and soak the rice in water for about 30 minutes.
  2. Grease a pan (preferably a heavy bottomed pan) with ghee and then pour the milk into it. Warm the milk till the boiling point.
  3. Drain the water from the soaked rice and add it in the boiled milk.
  4. Cook the rice on low heat for about 15-20 minutes. Stir it every few minutes to make sure that the milk does not stick to the bottom of the pan.
  5. Add the saffron and the cardamom powder to the milk and stir continuously.
  6. After that, add the almond and pistachios.
  7. Stir over gentle heat until the rice becomes soft and the milk is evaporated.
  8. At the end, add the sugar and cook for 5 minutes until the sugar dissolves completely.
